Buying lingerie online – fun or fraud?

Buying lingerie online – fun or fraud

I purchase a lot of things online – clothing, books, particular food and so on. However, the idea of buying underwear, especially fine pieces, without seeing (and touching) it beforehand, at first sounded a bit awkward. When I was younger, it took me a lot of time to make up my mind even in the store – does this bra fit my breasts, how color looks on my skin, is it too decorated or too sporty and elegant, and, after all, do I really need any bra (Libra in Ascendent, yes). As the time passed, I've managed to build my own style, with precisely defined rules and principles. It doesn't mean I purchase only one type of bra or sets, or that the color are strictly limited on white, beige and black. From time to time, I like to get myself something unexpected, untypical for me, just to see how it works.

As I've learned what I love, what fits my figure and what to avoide, shopping became easier and faster. But then, a new challenge arose – time limits. As a working mother of three, I have barely time to take a shower, let alone visiting lingerie shop. So online purchasing often remains the only choice when I want to renew my underwear. During the time, and gaining some experience, I have determined a few basic rules that help me choose right pieces on right places.

1. Know your measures – It is surprising how many women actually don't know their proportions, subsequently wearing unfitting lingerie. Don't be lazy – take some time and the tape measure; write it down. Different retailers may have different sizes; always check your measures in retailer's size chart – you'll be surprised how many sizes and shapes you actually fit in!

2. Read the return policy terms – yes, those boring small letters no one ever reads. However, if you want to avoid misunderstandings and hustle, it's better to take some time and learn what you should expect if your bra doesn't fit.

3. Define your style – Although some exceptions are always welcomed, every one of us form some personal style through the time. Consider brands and retailers that match your personal taste, in order to spare your time and nerves.
